Moab

This last weekend, my Mom and Dad agreed to watch Roxy for us while we went to Moab with Matt's brother Ben and his Natalie, and our best friends ever, Lynsey and Matt B (I only add the "B" to help with the confusion between my Matt and this Matt). It was a blast! Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa!! And thanks Lynsey and Matt for inviting us. We went during Jeep Safari, which is the craziest week of the year in Moab. There are people everywhere and Jeeps everywhere. Thanks to our friend Matt B, I've come to realize how much fun Jeeping is. Before our trip to Moab last year, I never knew that those commercials you see where the Jeeps literally climb up a mountain could actually be a reality or something that I would ever do. And it's a pretty cool feeling to look at this humongous rock and think that there is no way to get up it, and then to just do it. It's awesome actually! I'm still a little chicken to drive myself, which I have done on "Baby Lion's Back", but I don't mind just being in the passenger seat. Anyway, we camped out at "the field," where we got no sleep because of the noise and was able to see a guy get chased down by a police dog and arrested. The second night we invested in some earplugs to help with the sleep issue. Some of the other highlights of the weekend: Hell's Revenge, Poison Spyder, Seeing a Jeep roll on Potato Salad, Tin foil dinners, Smores, sitting around the campfire, spending time with friends, and especially spending time with Matt. The sun was out and the weekend turned out great!

Good Times!

Last of the Winter Pics

Although I really do love winter and all the snow, I hope these are the last winter pictures I post. Now that we haven't had fresh snow for a while, it has all turned black and has lost its natural beauty. I've decided that I am officially ready for summer and the warm sun. Really, my ideal would be 80 degrees outside along with some fresh snow on the ground. But we know that is very unlikely to happen. I just don't like being cold for so long. A warm fire can only do so much. It's about time it warmed up. I will miss the snow, but something I miss a little more right now is some color in my skin and eating a popsicle without having to bundle up in a blanket afterwards. (P.S. I love popsicles!) I know I will have to wait through a period of rain, but its worth the wait. Plus, it's during the rain that I get my best sleep. I guess I just have to take the good with the bad.

She does have legs, they're just stuffed in the snow. A great way to practice standing.
I think she likes the snow just like her mom.

All American Girl

So I heard this song on the radio and just loved it. It reminds me of our little family. Well, at least the first part. It's my new favorite song to just bust out singing to in the car. I hope you like it too.

Tagged on V-day!!!

So I've been tagged to write all about my fabulous husband. The same fabulous husband that left me alone on Valentine's Day. I know, sad story. He is on a business trip in Minnesota and is spending an extra day there to go visit his family in Wisconsin. After our first wonderful Valentine's Day, (when we were still dating and he was trying hard to impress me) we've kind of had a bad track record for Valentine's Day. Ok, just this year and last year. Last year we went to dinner with four old men, long story. So hopefully next year we will hit it out of the park! In the end I still love him and know that he loves me. And I'm really glad that he gets to see his family this weekend. Anyway, here you go. . .

WHO DO I LOVE? Matthew Alan Leonhardt, my Superman!

WHO LONG DID YOU DATE? 10 months. We will have been married 4 years in June.

WHO SAID I LOVE YOU FIRST? Matt did, Of course. I wasn't about to say it first. What if he just said "oh" or "thanks?" I don't think I could handle that.

WHO IS TALLER? Matt by maybe one inch. But it all works out because I live in tenny's and flip flops so he is always taller than me. Except for when my sisiter dolls me up in some of her high heels, then we have a problem. At that point he's still taller than me because I'm laying on the ground after embarrassingly tripping on my own heel. Who wears those things. So not comfortable! And I'm all about "comfortable shoes!" (Inside joke for only a select few)

WHO CAN SING BETTER? Hands down ME. Not saying that I'm a fabulous singer, but Matt couldn't hold a tune if his life depended on it. OK, he's not that bad, but on his mission, he had one of his investigators ask him to move because he couldn't listen to him any longer. I don't really mind, and it's really cute when he busts out "My Maria" in the car. Love it.

WHO IS SMARTER? Hands down Matt. On a questionnaire, when asked to list your hobbies, he put "learning." No joke.

WHO DOES THE LAUNDRY? We both do. But we both hate it, so whoever runs out of clean underwear first gets to do it.

WHO PAYS THE BILLS? I do. I kinda get a high off of it. It's kind of hard to explain. I know I'm weird.

WHO SLEEPS ON THE RIGHTS SIDE OF THE BED? I do. Matt is on the side closer to the bathroom. He drinks so much water that he has to get up in the middle of the night once or twice to go pee. He's like a pregnant woman!

WHO MOWS THE LAWN? Matt does. I would, but in our quest to save money when we bought our house, we ended up buying an electric lawn mower. Yes, electric, so it has to be plugged into an outlet connected by a super long extension cord. It is such a hassle and so not worth the money we saved. I've never used it once. The only way I mow the lawn is if I borrow a gas powered one from a neighbor.

WHO COOKS DINNER? When dinner is actually cooked which is not very often at all, I do it about 75% of the time. I know I really should make dinner more often, but Matt is really healthy picky sometimes and would rather eat a mixture of yogurt, protien, tuna, peanut butter, and cottage cheese. Yes, all mixed together in the same bowl. Disgusting! When we were first married I was nice and would try these concoctions, but have learned to just say no. Always the best method.

WHO DRIVES? Matt does. We both like to drive fairly fast and I'd rather have him get a ticket than me.

And there you have it.
I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day!
I love you Matt and always will!!!

P.S. I'll add some nice pics later when I get home from my mom's house. I had to have someone keep me company this weekend. Oh and I tag Janet, Shawn, and Hailee. Good luck!

Goodbye Mullet

ROXY GOT HER FIRST HAIRCUT! She was starting to grow a nice little mullet in the back, so Aunt April (hair stylist extraordinaire) cut it for her. Roxy did fabulous for her first time and now she's got a cute little bob in the back.

We really needed to get rid of her mullet because we don't want her growing up looking like this! ->
Scary!
Thanks April!

Here's a preview of what it could look like in the future. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Everyday

Here's just some everyday things we have going on and most are about Roxy, cause she is our world. Just thought I would share with you...

Roxy's first experience with Jell-O. She kept wanting more, but this was the sour face she gave after swallowing. So Funny!

Here's our family Snowman style.

She loves taking baths.

Roxy has learned to hold her own bottle and it is SO NICE.
It gives me a little more free time.
Before I know it she'll be sitting up on her own.

President Hinckley

It is hard to believe that President Hinckley passed away yesterday. Although it was sad to hear the news, I truly am happy for him in knowing that he will now be reunited with his cute cute wife. What a fabulous man! I will always remember him for everything he taught me and for all the great work he did here on earth.

Go Pack Go

Even though the Packers lost last week, we are still fans. And Roxy just looked so cute in her Brett Favre jersey that her Uncle Ben gave her for Christmas. Go Packers!

SURVIVOR 17

So I decided to try out for Survivor! I just sent in my application and video today. I know there is a slim to none chance that I will actually be selected as one of the 16 contestants, but I can always hope. I figure that I have an OK chance. First of all, they have never had a stay-at-home Mom on the show before. And I have a pretty cool name. At least I think so. But you never know what they're looking for. I'll just have to wait and see. And I know some of you are thinking, "Would she really leave her little girl and not see her for 7 weeks just to be on survivor?" And the answer is yes! Hello, this is Survivor we're talking about and 1 million dollars. It would be rough, but I'm willing to sacrifice, and I already have a neighbor that said she would watch Roxy during the day and Matt would have her at night. I'm all set. But who am I kidding, I'm sure I won't get picked, but it's always nice to dream.

First and Hopefully Not the Last

So I've decided to enter the blogging world. This is my first post and for those of you that really know me, I'm kind of a procrastinator and can be pretty lazy sometimes, so hopefully I will keep up. I figured that since I'm home all day with Roxy that maybe I could find some time to post at least once or twice a month. We'll see. I'll now just update anyone who is wondering about our lives at the moment. Matt and I are living in Clearfield, UT. We bought our first house the summer of 2006. Matt is working as a quality assurance manager for Kroger Foods at the Layton frozen dough plant. We had a little baby girl on August 16, 2007. Her name is Roxy JaNae Leonhardt. She is so cute and is now 5 months old. They grow so stinkin' fast. Her favorite thing to do right now is roll, roll, roll. She loves it and does it all the time. I have started working at the daycare at the gym just 2 hours a week, mostly to keep our free gym passes. I have also started working for the Sandlot in Ogden doing Softball training, lessons, and clinics. It's nice to get out of the house now and then, and Matt is great to watch Roxy while I'm gone. He is a great dad and is loving this new adventure. And I love being a mom. It's definitely challenging sometimes, but it's all worth it.
We are keeping ourselves busy when we're not working and while Roxy is being content. Matt loves working on different projects around the house, building, sculpting, carving, and refinishing anything he can. He also works hard keeping the elders quorum in ship shape. I am serving in the primary and like to find any sports league I can play in. I just finished up a soccer league and am now playing in a volleyball league. And as soon as spring comes I'll be back into softball.
Well that's about it from here. We'll see how long it takes me to post again. Till then.
Here are some pictures of us this past little while...
